Dana is a pre-published writer who grew up around Army bases in Germany and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan. She holds a BA in English literature from The Ohio State University, an MAT in Teaching from National Louis University, and an MS in Speech-Language and Learning from Northwestern University. Dana is a mother of two and works as a speech-language pathologist in Chicago. 
Dana is an active member of SCBWI, 12X12, and multiple online kidlit writing communities. She has completed picture book writing workshops and courses, including the Children’s Book Academy’s Craft & Business of Writing Children’s Picture Books. Her story CHRISTMASAURUS HEX won 1st prize during Susanna Leonard Hill’s 2020 Holiday Writing Contest. Dana was selected as a 2021 PBParty finalist for a concept book about Black American Inventors. She is currently working on multiple fiction and nonfiction projects.
